Statewide Forecast Discussion:

Issued: 8:33 AM CST (14:33Z), Monday, March 21, 2021

...SYNOPSIS...
Temperatures are expected to increase as the week continues with a lack of a major pressure system to influence winds and precipitation. Temperatures will increase to the mid 50s on today to high 60s for a majority of Oklahoma on Wednesday and Thursday with lows in the 70s in the panhandle on Thursday. The late week may see precipitation as a system nears western Oklahoma.

...SHORT TERM...
Today expect lows in the mid 20s to low 30s statewide with highs increasing to low to mid 50s for the panhandle and mid to upper 50s in the remainder of Oklahoma. Tuesday sees lows increasing to mid 30s in the west and mid 40s in the east while highs increase to the mid 60s in the panhandle, low 50s in the southeast, and mid to upper 50s in the remainder of Oklahoma. Precipitation will remain low to unlikely for a large portion of the state with showers likely in portions of the central-southeast tonight/Tuesday night. Winds will shift from southward to northward tonight/Tuesday night statewide.

...LONG TERM...
A southward cold front will dominate the Southeaster portion of Oklahoma in the early week before giving way to increasing temperatures. Given this, temperatures gradually increase statewide from highs in the mid 50s on Monday to high 60s for a majority of Oklahoma and low 70s in the panhandle on Thursday. Showers are expected in south central Oklahoma Monday/Tuesday night and, after that, the state will lack a dominate pressure system till the late week where a low system will likely move through the state bringing rainfall. Otherwise no precipitation is expected statewide. Winds will shift from southward to northward Monday/Tuesday night and remain that way for a large portion of the week statewide.
