Back to Archive Page

I will try to update this page when severe weather threatens Missouri. I will especially focus on areas like Kansas City, MO and northward along with the area around Springfield, MO which includes Branson, MO. The style of my discussions/forecasts are based on the SPC's discussions and any updates are listed from new to old, so keep that in mind when reading my discussion down below.

    ...Discussion...
The Thermodynamics profiles today are not very impressive due to the affects
the past few days of storms had on the enviroment. This could limit storm
development and how long storms will stay at peak intensity and stay severe.
That said, forecast soundings still show favorable wind shear enviroments in
NE KS, SE NE, SW IA, and NW MO for rotation that can create storms with the
ability to produce large hail and maybe a tornado. However, storms will not
be widespread and will probably be isolated in nature as the storm's updrafts
struggle to form and grow in intensity.
